When it was first released in 2013, ContactManager was designed to be a great tool for small businesses to store their contacts, emails, notes, and interactions in one place. But, over the past few years, we witnessed a transformation in the industry away from address books, and toward more powerful contact automation solutions. As some of you might know, we launched Bigin
, a simple-yet-powerful CRM solution for small businesses who wanted a solution that could easily allow them to manage their customer-facing activities without having to invest in a full-fledged CRM solution.
We love how small businesses are adapting to Bigin, and bearing this in mind, we had to ask ourselves: Will future businesses still want an online address book as a standalone service in an era of multi-channel CRM solutions? Keeping the ever-changing customer relationship software landscape in mind, and taking constant customer feedback who've switched to Bigin, we've made the difficult decision to retire the Zoho ContactManager service.
To give our customers enough time to prepare for their migration, the service will stay live until Sep 30, 2021, and all our existing customers will be able to continue using the product until then without any interruption whatsoever. If you are a customer currently on an annual subscription, you can continue to use the service until your next renewal date, which will not be later than March 31, 2022.
Continuing our tradition of always putting our customers first, we've come up with a flexible EOL plan so customers can choose what they want to do with their Zoho ContactManager data following the final day of service.
Now, what's next?
As part of the EOL plan, ContactManager customers can simply switch to our new service, Bigin, at no additional cost. You have the option to migrate your data from ContactManager to Bigin, making sure you can get started on day one. Bigin offers the complete contact management experience of ContactManager, with many additional features like workflow automation, built-in telephony, and an analytics dashboard that will help you confidently manage your customer pipeline. Even if you don't want to migrate your data to Bigin, you can export all your ContactManager data from the 'Backup' option under Settings.
The Zoho ContactManager team is thankful to our customers for their constant support in shaping the product into what it is now, and for everything that they've given us during the seven years of ContactManager's existence.
