Weak search function in Mail

Dear Zoho Mail Team,

I sent you a question about search function in Mail about two months ago.
Your answered: " We do not support any wild-card search except text* form, where the text is the starting letters of the search string. Sorry for disappointing you, but we do not have plans to provide support to extensive wild-card search other that this even in future."

I do not understand your position and would like to discuss that problem in public.

Any organization and even private users have lots of mail. And they usually use search function to find some messages. And usually they remember only part of email address or particular name.

Any, i repeat, any mail system around the world has less or more good search function support. Google Mail has one of the best.  So could you please explain why you do not plan to support good mail search practices? 

Lazy users (most of us :) do not want to setupy filters, labels, sort mail every day and so on. They just want to find particular message and they CAN NOT to do this in Zoho Mail.

So please, give us a reason you do not support this.

Could you please improve your search function?  Let's vote for it, if you want.

Here some examples of weak and unpredictable search function in Zoho:


Using search  like "orange*" doesn't find it.   "*orange"   does. (that doesn't fit your anwer above, by the way).  "*ora" doesn't again. "ora*" does.
But if mail from akornilov@gmail.com, "gmail*" does find it.

That is very strange and unusable behaviour, imho.
