Ok so I have been tweaking and custimizing the CRM app - that has no email client integration for one. [arrrrrrrgh...]
Additionally, the whole purpose of a CRM app to me is its ability to automatically trigger events, tasks, emails and other such activities in a Pre Programmed sequence - based upon rules and triggers.
The notion that this system is not intended to allow automated email to my clients based upon user event triggers boggles the mind.
We really need to be able to create sequences of different events to trigger based upon activities and and dates.
Workflow Rules, and "Alerts" to system users is NOT the answer in their current iteration. Major improvements are needed there ...
We need to be able to put a new prospect who responds to us on a cycle of :
- Thank you for your inquiry email
- Calendar Event to call in X days
- Task List addition to the record owner to follow up or close lead in X Days
- Task Entry Reminder to - Send a Card - in X Days
- Task Entry/Event Entry to Call Back - in X Days
- Task Entry reminder to either close lead or put on "Keep In Touch" Campaign Process which would be another Series of events/Campaign using emails and reminders to send cards/promo materials
