Whats the difference between 'Mail' and 'CRM mail' and why dont they sync?

Whats the difference between 'Mail' and 'CRM mail' and why dont they sync?

Ok heres my scenario,
1. created a new lead
2 converted to Potential
3. Wanted to send an email from our 'info@' address, so that all users can see whats going on, I can only set this up within 'email' module so i did,
4. I was hoping that the email I sent from 'email module' would turn up in the 'potential' module. It didnt.

This issue raises my next question, how can i force 'send mail' from potential module to send it from 'info@' rather than my user email 'jim@' or even have a choice.

Also why when we clone an email template why cant we allocate it to a different module-seems a bit of a pointless function as is.
