whats wrong with the search function in contacts????

whats wrong with the search function in contacts????

if I open my contacts and run a search on anything, the page bogs, searches for ever and eventually I just close it. Searching contacts used to work fine. Now it doesn't work. Anything on my end which might be wrong?
