It has been 4 months since the beta of WhatApp Integration, powered by Twilio, has been released—whereupon we had received a plethora of requests. We were able to onboard a few of them in batches, while other customers are on the queue. At this stage, we have received a notice from Twilio stating that the requested applications are placed on hold, since Whatsapp has paused all the ISV, SI, and ISV/SI customer onboarding process globally.
Here’s what this hold means for you:
- Existing Customers using WhatsApp Integration: The configuration will not be affected for the customers who have already been onboarded to use WhatsApp on Twilio. You can continue to send and receive messages seamlessly.
- Customers who have submitted Request Access Form: Any requests submitted to Zoho Desk and awaiting WhatsApp's approval—i.e., yet to be configured—will be on-hold until further notice.
- Customers with their Beta Requests on queue: You are likely to be added to the subsequent batches of beta activation once the hold has been lifted.
We will be unable to process new applications for the time being, but we expect to have a timeline update from WhatsApp in August, and will resume the beta activations as soon as they lift this temporary hold.
