What is the advantage of having a lead? Why not just enter all as Contacts?
I have been toying with the idea of entering everyone in the Contacts Module, and using a "Contact Type" field to change the record from "Lead" to "Contact".
You can set up and save a View in the Contact Module so that you only see Leads, Contacts, or other types of contacts that you have.
This would also let you convert someone back to Lead, just by changing the selection in the "Contact Type" field back to "Lead".
Seems another advantage would be that all of the entries would synchronize with Google contacts, where now only the entries in the Contact module synchronize.
With the Enterprise version of Zoho CRM, there could also be conditional fields that are only visible depending on what "Contact Type" is selected. For example - "Lead" type only has basic fields visible. Other fields could be made visible for "Qualified", "Customer", or whatever type of Contact Type that you want to consider for your business.
Does anyone see a downside to the process of entering everyone as a Contact and just not using the Leads Module?
Any functionality lost?
