Why the limit of 50 records for views per page for Leads, Contacts and Accounts?

Why the limit of 50 records for views per page for Leads, Contacts and Accounts?

Wondering why the system was updated last night to limit the record view from 100 to 50 records per page for Leads, Contacts, and Accounts. 

In fact it looks like this was updated for all module record views.
