Will Publishing application change name of application (and break URL links)?

Will Publishing application change name of application (and break URL links)?

I have an application that I have been developing for some time.  I have shared this application to the users, but now want to publish to them (the client) so that I continue development.  Will publishing change the application name?  Will it break any of the URL links in the application.

For example, I hyperlink to different views and forms using the application URLS.
