Work Flow Rules

I'm new to Zoho and this question may have been asked but I could not find it.  I'm trying to wrap my head around work flow rules.
 
If you change a workflow rule how does that effect in my case the current leads under the rule? 
 
Example I have rule set to send an email out 2 days from entry date, I change my mind and want to go one day from entry?
 
What happens the current leads under the a work flow if you add addtional timed activites?
 
Example I have several marketing emails set to fire 1,3, 5 days from creation let's say I get a brainstorm and decide to create another one 7 days out.  Will the current leads under the rule get that email?
