Workflow Actions - Consider Adding On-Screen Alert
TL;DR - It would be helpful if there were a more "in your face" in-app alert option for automation workflows.
Background - The vast majority of the ordering for my company entails delivery to our own address. Once in a while (maybe 5% of our purchase orders) require the material to be sent to a contract processor. As you might imagine, our staff will often forget to change the 'deliver to' address on the PO, since they rarely have to think about it.
I wanted to put in place automation to eliminate this issue.
I started by adding a custom field called 'ship to' to the vendors who sell materials we need to ship to another location.
I then put in place an automation for purchase orders that triggers upon PO creation, filtered to only happen when the 'ship to' field is not empty. All perfect.
The problem comes in with the available actions. I'd like to have some kind of an alert box pop up on the screen so the user has to see it and acknowledge it (which would then lead them to double-check the deliver-to address). Unfortunately, nothing like this is available.
The "In-app notification" is pretty much useless, as it just puts it under the little bell icon. This isn't helpful, because most users don't notice or ignore that. Even those who eventually look there don't notice it in a timely manner.
I'm sure, as with everything else in Zoho, that if one were a coder, some kind of custom function could be written. Most business owners and users aren't coders, though, and this seems like the sort of functionality that would make a ton of sense as an action.
Please consider having some sort of an alert box as a default action available on workflows.
