Workflow Alert

I was creating a workflow alert that would automatically send an email out to a customer after they signed up with our company for services.
This email would entail next steps as well as contact info and any other information that would be needed for the customer after the deal closes. Unfortunately, I can't put the Account's Contact Name in there to email the customer, only people that are in the system. Is there a work around for this?
