Workflows not triggering from quick edit option in new UI

I have most of my workflows rigged up to run when a stage from a picklist alters. My workflows work when I go to into the full global "edit" screen, but the new quick edit options on the potential overview page does not trigger workflows.
 
I spoke to support on the phone the other day and they said Zoho are aware of this. My problem is if my staff member takes the "lazy option", critical workflows get missed.
 
Support's suggestion was to ensure that a record is edited in full edit mode only. This leads to a more significant problem....
 
The global edit screen does not view properly for our business in Internet Explorer. Support's suggestion is to use Chrome (which sorts it). The problem is we use the Mail Merge function which isnt supported for Chrome.
 
All of the above is conspiring to create a poor and unusable system.
 
These are very fundamental issues, particularly the decision to not launch the UI with full workflow integration. Can anyone from Zoho confirm that the resolution of these issues is is a matter of priority?
