Our business way is:
  1. We make a contact, it´s posssible than this contact help us with the selling processing (life distributor or subagent) or not (only contact)
  2. The contact can give us an account
  3. Sometimes the contact recieve any comission, sometimes don´t receive
I think the best way for us in Zoho CRM it´s considerating "contact" if the person or company don´t help us at the moment with the selling processing and "vendor" in another case
