I have proposed this before but I want to make sure that Zoho is working on this functionality because there is no master list of work in process for the users to review.

Currently Zoho does not let you create a lead for an existing contact. If you try to do that then when you then qualify the lead and convert it to a Potential Zoho automatically creates a duplicate account and a duplicate contact. This makes it almost impossible ensure that the relational database works the way it is supposed to work. You end up with disconnected records and you lose the ability to get the "360 degree view" that is the heart of a CRM software system.

Most salespeople I speak to separate Leads from Opportunties. Even existing customers can be leads until their opportunities are qualified. From my perspective this is a very serious flaw and it limits the way we can use Zoho CRM.

It is essential to be able to create leads from existing contacts and accounts without creating duplicate records when the Leads are converted to Potentials.
