Hello users,
Welcome to this month's roundup of what's new in Zoho Books! We have an exciting line-up this time. The highlight is the launch of the all-new France Edition with full ISCA compliance. We're also introducing features such as Layout Rules for Custom Modules, Annexure Attachments in PDF Templates, Location-Based Price Lists, and support for three new languages, along with several other enhancements across editions. Let's dive in!
Introducing France Edition
We are thrilled to announce the launch of Zoho Books for France. The France edition is
fully compliant with ISCA (Inalterability, Security, Conservation, and Archiving) requirements, mandatory for VAT-registered businesses in France that use billing or accounting software. Key compliance features include Non-Alterable Transactions, Digital Signatures, Unique and Sequential Transaction Numbering, Activity Logs, Tax Archiving, and Period Closing.
Layout Rules for Custom Modules
We have introduced layout rules for Custom Modules. You can now define conditions so that fields appear or hide, become mandatory, or get auto-filled based on the values entered.
To define conditions for a custom module, go to Settings > Custom Modules > Select a custom module > Rules > Navigate to the Layout Rules tab > + New Layout Rule.
Attach Annexure to PDF Templates
You can now attach annexure documents to your PDF templates. Supporting documents are automatically appended as additional pages at the end of the generated PDF.
To configure annexure attachments to your PDF templates, go to Settings > Customization > PDF Templates > Select a module > Select a template > Hover and click Edit > Other Details > Annexure > Upload File.
Associate Price List with Locations
Price lists with the Sales Transaction Type can now be associated with Business Locations. While creating transactions, pricing is automatically applied based on a hierarchy. If a price list is associated with the customer, it takes precedence. Otherwise, the price list linked to the selected location applies automatically.
For example, if Customer A has an assigned price list and Customer B does not, creating a transaction for Customer A at a location will apply the customer-level price list, while switching to Customer B on the same transaction will automatically apply the location-level price list.
To associate a price list with a location, go to Settings > Organization > Locations > + Add Location > select Location Type as Business Location > select the Price List > enter the other necessary details > click Save.
Zoho Inventory Add-On Updates
Auto Batch Assignment
Managing inventory batches manually during every outward transaction can be time-consuming and error-prone. With the Auto Batch Assignment feature, Zoho Books intelligently identifies and assigns inventory batches automatically based on a configured allocation strategy. You can choose from FIFO (oldest stock first), FEFO (earliest expiry first), or LIFO (latest stock first). The system handles allocation seamlessly in the background, enabling faster transaction processing and more consistent inventory handling.
Note: This feature is only available for the Elite and ultimate Plans of Zoho Books.
To enable Auto Batch Assignment, go to settings > General > Items > Navigate to the General tab > Advanced Inventory Tracking > Enable Auto Batch Assignment > Select a batch assignment method.
Walmart Integration [US Edition]
We have integrated Walmart with Zoho Books. You can connect your Walmart seller account either through the Walmart Seller Center or directly from Zoho Books. The integration supports product sync, stock updates to Walmart, sales order import with configurable sync frequencies (from every 5 minutes to 4 hours), shipment tracking, return syncing, and payout/settlement reconciliation.
Partial Replenishment
We now support partial replenishment for inventory restocking tasks. If the quantity in an order created from a replenishment task is below the required quantity, a new replenishment task is automatically created with the pending quantities.
Units Groups
We have enhanced the Unit of Measurement feature by introducing Unit Groups. With Unit Groups, conversions are now managed at the group level, and each group can be associated with a specific Item. This means you can create multiple conversion rates for the same base and target units by defining separate unit groups. For example, if you sell cookies in boxes of 5 and cupcakes in boxes of 8, you can now create distinct unit groups for each, even though both use pieces as the base unit and box as the target unit.
Sync Sales Return from Shopify to Zoho Books
You can now sync your Sales Returns from Shopify to Zoho Books.
Other Feature Enhancements
- We now support three additional languages, Korean, Polish, and Greek in Zoho Books.
- Indirect TDS Summary is now displayed in Invoice and Bill PDFs when applicable, showing the TDS rate, taxable amount, and total TDS amount. [India Edition & Kenya Edition]
- Bulk Update for items now supports Reporting Tags, allowing you to update reporting tag in bulk across your items.
- TDS Liability Filters are now available while recording TDS Challans, enabling you to filter by Transaction Type, TDS sections, Vendor, Date Range, and Location. [India Edition]
- You can now display the Total Amount Excluding TDS in the totals section of an invoice PDF, allowing you to show the invoice amount without TDS alongside the total amount. [India & Singapore Edition]
- You can now compare locations within a single hierarchy in Reports.
- Admins now have full access to Custom Reports, with permissions to edit, clone, and delete any report in the organization.
- You can now apply date range filters to Custom Reports.
