Zoho Books | Product updates | September 2026

Hello Partners,
We've rolled out new updates to Zoho Books. From a brand-new Nigeria edition expanding our presence on the African continent to the new Super Admin privilege, here's everything that's new this month.

Nigeria Edition Now Live [Nigeria Edition]

  1. We are delighted to announce the launch of the Nigeria edition of Zoho Books. Built to fully align with Nigeria's tax and compliance requirements, the Nigeria edition includes:
  2. A tailored tax experience compliant with Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) regulations.
  3. Tax automation powered by Zoho Tax for accurate and efficient transaction processing.
  4. NRS-compliant e-invoicing support via Remita, a certified third-party provider.
  5. VAT return generation and filing aligned with NRS requirements.
  6. Support for withholding VAT and tax.
  7. Reverse charge mechanism support for sales and purchase transactions.
  8. A dedicated migration tool for existing Global Edition users transitioning to the Nigeria edition.

Introducing the Super Admin Privilege

We're introducing the Super Admin privilege in Zoho Finance applications. This privilege is automatically assigned to the user who creates an organization in a Zoho Finance application. In addition to standard admin permissions, the Super Admin has exclusive rights over other admins in the organization.

Domestic Reverse Charge for Sales Transactions [UAE Edition]

Zoho Books now supports the Domestic Reverse Charge (DRC) mechanism for sales transactions. You can mark eligible sales transactions as subject to DRC, and the transactions will be automatically reflected in the VAT return with the applicable taxable values reported, without charging VAT to the buyer.

GSTR-2B Reconciliation Enhancements [India Edition]

  1. Vendor Filing Insights: You can now check the GSTR-2B reconciliation status of a bill by checking whether the supplier has filed the corresponding invoice in their GSTR-1 return, along with the related return period and vendor filing date. You can view these details without leaving the Bill Details, Record Vendor Payment, or Apply Vendor Credits pages.
  2. Bill of Entry Reconciliation: GSTR-2B Reconciliation in Zoho Books now supports Bill of Entry transactions. You can reconcile Overseas and SEZ Bill of Entry transactions recorded in Zoho Books with the corresponding import transaction details available in your GSTR-2B data from the GST Portal.
  3. Compare Reconciled GSTR-2B Values in GSTR-3B: You can now compare Reconciled GSTR-2B Values with your Zoho Books Purchase Values while preparing Table 4 – Eligible ITC in GSTR-3B.

Zoho Inventory Add-On Updates

Introducing Shipment By Item Report

The Shipment by Item report provides a comprehensive view of shipment orders within a selected date range, including batch-level details. You can customize columns, apply advanced filters and multi-level grouping, export the report, create custom report views, and schedule recurring report deliveries.

Inventory Report Enhancements

  1. A new Age column has been added under the Product In section of the FIFO Cost Lot Tracking report, showing how long each lot of stock has been held based on the date it was received.
  2. You can customize the Inventory Aging Summary report and enable the Do not include Transfer Order option to retain the stock's original stock-in date even after it is moved between locations, instead of using the Transfer Order date.
  3. Advanced filters in the Order Fulfillment By Item report now support Sales Order#, Customer Name, and sales order custom fields.

Bin Details in Inventory Adjustment Export

When exporting Inventory Adjustments, you can now include bin location details in the export file.

CoCreate Agent for Items, Transfer Orders, and Inventory Adjustments

You can now use CoCreate Agent, Zoho Books' AI-assisted co-creation capability, for Items, Transfer Orders, and Inventory Adjustments.

Other Feature Enhancements

  1. Zoho Books now supports the Customer Code field for customers when the Avalara integration is enabled. You can use the Customer Code to map multiple Zoho Books customer records to a single Avalara customer record, ensuring the appropriate exemption certificates are applied during tax calculation even when customer names differ. [US & Canada Editions]
  2. You can now create custom fields for customer and vendor contact persons.
  3. Zoho Books now supports the new currency symbols for the Saudi Riyal (SAR), UAE Dirham (AED), and Omani Rial (OMR) in transaction PDFs. [UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait Editions]
  4. You can now create Lookup and Multi-select Lookup custom fields with Journal or Account as the related module.
  5. A TDS Summary table is now displayed in Invoice and Bill PDFs when the transaction contains TDS. [India Edition]
  6. Advanced Search is now available for Recurring Journals and Transaction Rules in the Banking module.
