I'm very new here. I'm attempting to build a database that has some simple category information (location, date, subject) by radio choice in addition to a large rich text block.

I'd like to rich text block to be searchable by users. However, the only way I can seem to do this is to have the text appear as a column in the database view, which makes everything quite unusable because the entries are so enormous and the entire text is shown.

Is there a way to gag or hide the big text column, yet still have it searchable? This would make life grand!
