I am starting this thread to make Zoho Aware of area's where integration of Zoho CRM and Zoho Mail are lacking functionality. Please Add to the List so they are aware:
1. Tasks cannot be created from a Zoho Mail into Zoho CRM. Tasks created from Zoho mail are created in the parallel Tasks application which is not part of CRM.
2. CRM Document integration is not integrated with Zoho Mail. When you open an email attachment (Word Doc or Excel Doc) using the native Zoho Office programs, you cannot save the document into the CRM Documents, however you can save them into your Personal Online Zoho Documents folder. However, it's not integrated with CRM Documents. Very confusing.
3. When you click on 'Email' in the CRM menu, you get the old email layout, with none of the new features. Even though this is the one that opens inside CRM, this version of email has even less integration with CRM.
4. When creating an event from an email, we should be able to associate it to a contact or company of our choosing inside of CRM. A common scenario is my company generates a quotation for a customer. I want to create a task not for the person who sent me the quote, but for the contact at the company I am quoting. Also, the Event (or task, please note 1 above) should have the email associated with it.
5. OK, this is just crazy! I received a Calendar invite from a colleague. I added the invite from mail to my Zoho CRM calendar. For some reason, it does not show up on the Zoho CRM Calendar. It does however showup under CRM activities list, and it also shows up on the parallel Zoho Calendar app, but not in the Zoho CRM Calendar. They really need to fix these crazy bugs. How is a business person supposed to use this for business???
We plan on switching the 6 people in our company to Zoho One and adding the SalesInbox functionality to email. I will let you know how many of these are fixed/addressed by SalesInbox.
I will add others as I remember/discover them
