Gap:

Deleting or renaming a field/connection/template silently breaks functions, workflows, blueprints, client scripts, Flow flows, Analytics reports and PDF templates. Only discoverable at runtime.

Proposal:

on every field, custom function, connection, org variable and template: a Usage tab listing every referencing component (including static-analysis matches inside Deluge/Node code and COQL), a dependency graph, and a hard warning/block on delete. Exposed via metadata API for CI checks.
