We have a business model where we sell equipment through distributors. As a MFG, we sell to distributors and our distributors sell to end-customers (B2B).
In CRM, I am using a custom module to track serial numbers. In the module, we identify serial number, who purchased it (distributor) and who uses it (end-customer).
We always know who purchased it - but not always who the end-user is - and sometimes we learn that after the fact.
For this purpose, I am developing a form with CRM integration (lookup on serial number) - which pulls in the distributor who purchased it. Our (company) field team completes the form with the end-customer and updates the record.
Sometimes the end-customer is already in CRM as an account so to eliminate duplicates and/or wrong spellings - I'd like to be able to do a "lookup/search and select" there. If not found, users should be able to add.
Is there a way to do this?
