Hello, Enterprise Support Community,
We are excited to announce some upcoming changes to the way that Related Lists can be interacted with, and the ways that you can utilize them within the CRM environment.
Currently, Related Lists will show you a list of 10 records, linked to the current record that you're viewing, such as Contacts tied to an Account or Tasks tied to Deals. You can change the columns that are displayed, change the sort order of the list and look at all of the related records, but are unable to filter or search for a specific one that you are looking for.
Introducing the new Related List Expanded View.
When looking at a Related List, you'll see a new Expand option on the top right corner of the section. Clicking on the button will expand to a full-width workspace, with the ability to view up to 100 records per page, apply filters to narrow down the results, and the ability to perform mass actions on the records, just like you can from the main module List View. All of this without ever having left the record that you started with.
Smart filters in expanded view
When you open the expanded view, a filter panel appears on the left just like in the module List View, and from here you can choose from any of the related module's fields Select the fields you want to filter by, set your conditions, and click Apply Filter. The record count will update to reflect the count based on your filtered results.
You can also choose which columns appear using the column chooser icon on the top right corner of the list, just like on the standard List View.
Mass actions in expanded view
Select one or more records in expanded view and perform mass actions, just like the module List View.
- Almost all List View actions are supported here.
- Actions such as Send Email, Tags, Mass Update, Run Macro, Create Task, Change Owner, Cadences, Print Using Canvas, Mail Merge, Delete, Export Selected Records, and other module-specific actions.
- Custom Buttons configured for the related list will also be shown here.
Feature Availability
- Editions: All editions in which related lists are available.
- Modules Supported: All modules in which related lists are supported (including for custom built Canvas).
- Related Lists Supported: Lookup-based related lists with the exception of multi-select lookup related lists.
- Release schedule: We plan to begin rolling this out in a phased manner in the next few weeks
