Hello Everyone!
As you all know, we have the provision to set a user's time zone in Zoho CRM. Currently, we are displaying all the time zones (both new and old) that add up to roughly 700 time zones. For instance, we have both (GMT 5:30) India Standard Time (Asia/Calcutta) as well as (GMT 5:30) India Standard Time (Asia/Kolkata) on the list.
We are trimming down the list of time zones to around 500 valid time zones. For instance, we will have only (GMT 5:30) India Standard Time (Asia/Kolkata) on the list and not (GMT 5:30) India Standard Time (Asia/Calcutta). You can get the final list of time zones from your Zoho Accounts home page.
Note:
This update is applicable only for the 'Timezone' field in the user's Locale Information section. The change will not be reflected in any other module/entity that has 'Timezone' details.
What happens to the users who already have an old/invalid time zone?
For existing users, who have an old/invalid time zone will be automatically re-mapped with the most relevant valid time zone based on offset. For instance, a user with (GMT 5:30) India Standard Time (Asia/Calcutta) will be automatically re-mapped with (GMT 5:30) India Standard Time (Asia/Kolkata).
What happens when you try to add or update a user with an old/invalid time zone?
The system throws INVALID_DATA error with the message 'Give a proper timezone value' with HTTP status 400.
When can you expect this update?
This update will be opened to customers in a month's time.
Cheers!
