Team,
We have been using ZOHO One for a substantial amount of time now and recently we moved out entire Global Workforce to ZOHO Docs from Dropbox to achieve better efficiency in terms of cost as well as performance, however, I need to admit that the migration has not been much of a success and Dropbox was way better. I am listing out the environment details as well as the paint points below with a hope that ZOHO looks into this and acts promptly.
Environment details: Windows 7/8.1/10, Office 365 2016
Pain points:
1 - The client is predominantly used to manage file structure across the organization as "Sharing" functionality is not available for Windows Explorer. However, we have witnessed many instances, where end users are unable to find the set of folders shared to them on their machines and also on ZOHO Docs Web. The workaround is to remove the sharing permission and add them again.
2 - Even while not using the selective sync feature on any machines, an issue consistently occurs where the folder structure does appear on end user machine, but some of the folders never sync completely. We see the "Syncing" status notification on the folder as well as the ZOHO Process in taskbar, however it doesn't go through. The workaround is to access those folders on Web browser and that is again a problem.
3 - In one instance, it took us 3-4 days to sync a laptop backup data with speeds consistently in the region of 2-2.5 MBPS for the concerned machine.
4 - Another instance is where a high level executive uploaded a specific folder structure for a customer meeting, however, it was plain embarrassment for the person when he found the folder structure all botched up in the meeting. Later, the employee has also informed that many documents were missing from the structure.
5 - We also had an issue while renaming a folder on one machine where it created a new folder while syncing folder with previous name from other machine leading to confusion in the Docs repository.
6 - Another issue to take notice is that, we gave a bunch of guys access to edit an excel file kept in a shared folder with the relevant permissions, however the changes to the excel file were never updated in the original file, whether editing via web (check out-check in method) or Windows Explorer (editing and saving the file).
Since day 1 of migration, we have been facing some random issues and these seem to affect our employees in all parts of the globe. Migrating some employees to WorkDrive as a test, didn't turn out that fruitful either as there are sync issues there as well.
We have a strength of around 250 people using ZOHO One as the primary business tool and really, the cloud storage and document management system (ZOHO Docs & WorkDrive) is not performing upto the mark. Please take immediate action on this to enable us have the seamless performance and sense of stability which we are used to with previous platforms, or we would have no choice than to roll back to the earlier arrangement.
Awaiting your response !
Thanks and regards,
Abhishek Bhainsora
