Zoho Finance Limitations 2.0 #1: User Field Level Permissions from Books do not exist in CRM. Zoho Finance has no Field level permissions
It's standard in CRM to have user roles field level permissions. Same standard exists in any accounting software.
it's not possible to implement any field level permissions for Zoho Finance.
What does that mean?
Basically any custom fields show for everybody regardless of permissions or roles
1. Custom fields that only accounting people should see in Zoho Books... yep anyone with access to Zoho Finance estimates, sales orders, purchase orders or invoices can see them.
2. Most people use hidden fields to pass data around behind the scenes and this is quite common. Well all those fields are now viewable to everybody also.
Not such a big deal until you have 10 custom fields and now your estimate page looks like an absolute mess. You've to scroll 3 pages before you can even start adding line items.
