ZOHO IMAP slow using Thunderbird

Hi,

Using Thunderbird ... Sending is slow. Receiving is slow. Reading messages is slow.

By "slow" in receiving and reading, I can explain better this way. I see the message in Thunderbird, click on it, and the text from the message doesn't show. The green status bar never fully extends. Sometimes it will NOT show until I have clicked onto another email and then come back to the new message.

By "slow" with sending. Quite often it will take 20 seconds to beyond one minute to send out an email with Thunderbird. The status bar will either show "attaching" for a long period of time. Or, the status bar will also say something like "copying to sent file". After a period of time, it will either go, ask if you want to retry, or error out.

We have not experienced this type of latency with other email hosts.

Currently, we are evaluating ZOHO Mail by using the free version and accessing IMAP through Thunderbird. Server settings were set up as instructed:

imappro.zoho.com, Port 993, SSL/TLS, Normal password
smtp.zoho.com, Port 465, SSL/TLS, Normal password

Our office computers are all using Windows 10 and we are on Thunderbird 45.0.

Things we have done, already:

- looked through the forums and found no corrections or workarounds for the users to make
- noticed other users saying slowness comes and goes
- ZOHO app on smartphones seems to work fine
- submitted 2 support request tickets at https://help.zoho.com/portal/newticket (first ticket about 2 weeks ago)
- submitted multiple "slow sending" emails with headers by email as requested - no response
- no longer receiving any responses through the ticket submission/email

Our previous paid email host was EXCELLENT and had superb service ... but, they didn't have all the fancy apps that ZOHO has available. These apps were very attractive to us and we thought we would try your ZOHO mail and potentially grow what we do with your company. You have a nice product. Unfortunately, using your product through Thunderbiird is painfully SLOW.

In the forums, we noticed sometimes the problem would get better for a while and then come back. I would really like to stay with ZOHO if we can get this issue worked out.
