Zoho in the Enterprise

Zoho in the Enterprise

I want to say that I really like many of the Zoho apps and will be recommending the paid version of some apps for less complex use.

I work for a state agency in Wisconsin, part of the agency is being broken into a private corporation. The new private corporation is looking to utilize cloud services instead of building an IT infrastructure. Cloud services will include CRM, project management, collaboration and possibly email and messaging.  We currently use a mix of SharePoint offered as a state enterprise service and Basecamp.Based on my experience and research I have found SharePoint to be the most comprehensive and powerful system, but the cost is quite large, so much so that we only use the enterprise state SharePoint service for special projects. Basecamp and other 37 signal offerrings have much of the functionality we need and the cost model is very straightforward and appealing. Zoho is hard to compare in a broad enterprise perspective. Zoho offers a lot of functionality like SharePoint, but it is not as integrated as SharePoiint. Zoho pricing is not as straightforward as Basecamp, some services are priced monthly or yearly and others are priced per user per month.

It is difficult for me to get people to buy into Zoho as an enterprise solution because the apps do not integrate like SharePoint and the pricing is not as straightforward as Basecamp. So I'm curious how Zoho can really compete in the enterprise with the limitations that exist.
