Zoho Kills Customized Fonts

Zoho Kills Customized Fonts

In February, Zoho CRM killed the "HTML Preview" function, and replaced by its duplicating "PDF Preview". I thought they started to realize how terrible this decision was made, given a large number of customers have complained. However, that was just the beginning of a disaster. Last week they took a further step to have killed the customizing fonts function.

As you could see in the attached screenshot, the left one was a quote generated last week, and the right one is the same quote generated today. In the past, Zoho allows user to use any font in the document templates. But now they only offer basic fonts like Serif, Arial, Courier, Georgia, Times New Roman, Trebuchet, and Verdana. As Zoho CS staff puts it, "these are the standard fonts in the business world, and you can customize your documents using these fonts". I agree these are the standard fonts, but this is obviously not what we customers expected the "customization".

Zoho CRM is gradually turning itself from a great product to a normal one, simply because they failed to understand what customers really need. And they are too confident about their fancy but useless new functions, but ignoring the customers' voice for maintaining the stability of those basic functions for their everyday use. As an experienced IT product manager, I just wish to remind you that every stupid step you take would become an essential weapon for your competitor. If you don't believe, you can try to call the sales team of Salesf**** CRM, and simple tell them you have encountered a problem in Zoho CRM, they would tell you a lot. They are so clear about what stupid steps you have taken, and all their new great updates are out of those mistakes you have made in the past few months. This is so realistic. If you still think what you do is right and what customers need is wrong, then you are about to see a serious setback ahead.
