zoho mail offline earlier this week/late last week

I was unable to get into my zoho mail earlier this week/late last week. I had to fine out from google to go to a "readonly" version of the webmail. Why was this and how come customers weren't informed?

The support form didnt work and you there wasn't a support phone number to call you on? So no way for me to contact zoho and ask them what happened?
