My Zoho email addresses that are linked to a domain suddenly stopped receiving messages yesterday, even though I've been using Zoho mail without problems for 1,5 years. I receive this reply to test emails: "553 Relaying disallowed". Due to this, my SMTP plugin doesn't work either ("SMTP error: could not authenticate"). Domain's MX Records are pointed to Zoho correctly.
So what is the problem here? I haven't changed any settings before the problem occured, also Wordpress plugins are updated.
The MX records for your domain are not pointing to Zoho Mail and that's the reason for not receiving emails. The MX record values will differ for your domain, based on the data center (US/ EU / AU / IN). Kindly refer to the instructions in below help document and configure the records on your domain DNS management page.
Now it showed error in admin console, and I was able to locate the problem and fix the DNS records in Wordpress. Still weird why the problem suddenly occured, but now everything is okay.
We perform lookups at regular intervals to ensure that the records for your domain are properly configured and display a banner message / alert if the records are missing. We hope the records are now properly configured and you're able to receive emails. For further queries / assistance, please drop an email to "support@eu.zohomail.com"
