If I activate the Blueprint for Jobs in Zoho Recruit, Zia disappears for matching canddiates, why is that?

Hello
,

In Zoho Recruit, activating the Blueprint for Jobs may cause Zia for Matching Candidates. Please review the below-highlighted points it will help you to understand why this happens and how these features are designed:

Zia uses artificial intelligence to automatically match candidates to job openings based on their profiles, skills, and other relevant criteria. It analyzes candidates in the background without depending on workflows.

The Blueprint provides a structured workflow for job openings. It defines specific steps or stages and automates transitions between them. When a Blueprint is active, it controls the entire process including approvals, updates, and transitions.

When you activate the Blueprint for Jobs, it overrides the default process of candidate matching in Zoho Recruit. If the Blueprint is activated, Zia can no longer automatically analyze or display matches because the Blueprint imposes custom logic and workflows that Zia does not have access to.

Zia works autonomously to suggest matches. Blueprint relies on user-defined steps that might restrict or modify job/candidate interaction.

If you rely heavily on Zia for candidate matching, consider not using a Blueprint for Jobs, as Zia works best with the default workflow. If Blueprint is essential to your process, you might need to manually manage candidate matching or build a custom integration/workflow to replace Zia’s functionality.

I hope this helps!

Please don't hesitate to ask if I can clarify anything or help further.

Hi Abhishek,

Thanks for your elaborate explanation of this issue.
What I don't understand is that Zia uses Skills (extracted from resumes) to Match with possible Jobs (also Skills). Both are set dbase fields. So what's the issue then? It's a 'stand-alone' process.

Still, you know the system better then I do, so I trust your judgement.
Maybe then another BIG improvement will be to manage the Zia prompt ourselves (from a standard)? The current Zia match is solely on Skills...

We've created a double check prompt, which goes way further then just looking at registered skills (can share it with you if you like)...

Hello Ben,

Please write to support@eu.zohorecruit.com and we will be glad to check this over a remote session and discuss this is detail. Thank you.

Yours,

Hello
,

Thank you for your follow-up and the additional details!
You’re right that Zia primarily bases its candidate suggestions on Skills extracted from resumes and the Skills field on Job Openings. Under normal circumstances, this appears fairly “stand-alone.” However, once a Blueprint is activated for a Job, the system’s default data processing and automations can be restricted (or fully overridden) by the Blueprint’s configured steps. Zia depends on certain internal triggers and the standard workflow to process matches automatically. When the Blueprint is in charge of Job transitions or statuses, it can interrupt or prevent Zia from “seeing” that it should continue processing those matches behind the scenes.

In other words:

1. Blueprint Dictates Job Progression
Once a Blueprint is active, it can define how and when a Job moves from one stage to another. If Zia’s matching triggers are tied to a standard stage transition or a “Job Open” status, and the Blueprint changes or locks that stage, Zia can be disabled or lose the context to proceed.

2. Zia Matching vs. Custom Logic
Because Blueprint is designed for custom workflows and transitions, it effectively takes precedence over the regular Zoho Recruit logic—this includes Zia’s autonomous matching. Zia isn’t integrated inside the Blueprint flow, so it “pauses” to avoid conflicting with the new logic.

3. Skills Are Just One Factor
Even though the Skills are stored as data fields, Zia’s AI engine also checks for other factors (location, experience, role fit, etc.). If the Blueprint forces changes to these fields or how the record is treated, Zia’s behind-the-scenes scanning can get disrupted.

I completely understand your point about wanting Zia to function as a ‘stand-alone’ skill matcher. If your Blueprint is essential, you might look into:

• Customized Workflow or Function: You can build a custom function or workflow trigger (via Deluge) that replicates or supplements Zia’s matching routine based on your advanced prompt (skills + additional criteria) and then tie it into your Blueprint steps.
• Partial Blueprint: Use the Blueprint selectively (e.g., only for certain stages of the hiring process) so that the initial candidate sourcing and matching stages remain “open” for Zia.
• Sharing Your “Double Check” Prompt: I’d love to see how you’re refining the matching beyond Skills. It could help in building a more robust custom process if we combine your prompt with Zoho Recruit’s existing triggers.

I appreciate the trust you place in my judgment. Please feel free to share your “double check prompt” anytime—I’m always keen to learn how other users push Zoho Recruit’s capabilities further. And if you’d like, I can provide suggestions on weaving it into a custom workflow so you can keep both the best of your Blueprint and the benefits of automated candidate matching.

Let me know if I can help further or if you have any questions!

I hope this helps!

Please don't hesitate to ask if I can clarify anything or help further.

Hi Abhishek,

If you want we can schedule a short digital meet in which I can show you. I'd rather not publish these findings/solutions on the web just like that
