Zoho writer strangely slow...

Hi -

First off, let me start by saying how wonderful the zoho suite of programs is. My problems with zoho writer in no way detract from my overall very positive experience with zoho.

I am experiencing a speed problem with zoho writer. Simply, the whole app is frustratingly slow, with a response time in seconds... i.e. I strike a key and about a second passes before it appears in the editting window. I type several words before they start to render drip by drop on the screen.

Some more info:
* Compaq presario laptop, R3000z. A few years old, but still very usable: 2GB RAM, 2.5GHz AMD 64
* Ubuntu 8.10 (32-bit)
* Firefox 3.0.2

I experience this slowdown *only* on writer using my default firefox setup. Other zoho apps work fine speedwise (I am writing this message in my default firefox without any speed issues). I have created a dummy user, tried firefox/zoho writer on a clean firefox, and the speed seemed much improved.

This would suggest something local to my specific firefox... but I haven't been able to track it down. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar... if so, I'd appreciate any feedback. I have the following extensions:

* foxclocks
* gmail notifier
* gmarks
* google gears
* google notebook
* novell moonlight
* tab mix plus
* ubuntu firefox modifications
