Why do I get an email alert stating 'New sign-in to your Zoho account?' | FAQ - Zoho Accounts

Why do I get an email alert stating "New sign-in to your Zoho account"?

If your Zoho account is signed in on a new device, a new browser, or a new location, you will be sent an email to alert you of the sign-in activity. The alert email will contain the following details:
  1. The date and time when your account was signed-in
  2. The details of the signed-in browser and device
  3. The location where your account was accessed (which is approximated based on your IP address)

If the account was accessed by you

If you are sure that the sign-in was made by you, you can ignore the alert email. To view the different devices you have signed in to, as well as your current web and mobile sessions, go to accounts.zoho.com.

If the account was not accessed by you

If you are suspicious about the sign-in activity, you can take the appropriate measure for your sign-in mode to secure your account. If you are part of an organization, make sure to also notify your administrator of this suspicious sign-in.

  1. If you haven't already secured your Zoho account with multi-factor authentication, check out our MFA modes.
  2. Secure your account with OneAuth's passwordless sign-in to avoid using password every time to sign in.
OneAuth (passwordless sign-in/password-based sign-in)
  1. Check for any suspicious signed-in sessions in the OneAuth app, and terminate them if found.

  2. If you are not using passwordless sign-in, make sure to reset your password as well.
Federated sign-in
  1. Reset your account password in the identity provider. If you have a separate password for your Zoho account, make sure to reset it as well.

  2. If you are using OneAuth for MFA, check for any suspicious sessions in OneAuth and terminate them if found. If you are using other MFA modes, check your active sessions at accounts.zoho.com.
