The owner of the domain {domain_name} has allowed sign-up only from a specific data center | Troubleshooting Zoho Accounts

The owner of the domain {domain_name} has allowed sign-up only from a specific data center

Description

You may face this error when you're trying to sign up for a Zoho account with an email address having the organization owned domain.

What happened

Once the organization admin adds a domain to the organization and verifies ownership of the domain, the organization admin is considered the domain owner. As the domain owner, the administrator can allow sign-up using the domain name only in the same data center (DC) as that of the organization and restrict sign-up in other DCs.

For example, if an organization present in US DC owns the domain "xyz.com" and has enabled this restriction, then you won't be able to sign up for a Zoho account using an email address like "john@xyz.com" from any other DC except the US DC.

How to resolve

If you want to sign up for a Zoho account using the same domain,
  1. Click the link in the error message to create your account in the DC where the domain is present.
    Or,
  2. Go to the respective sign-up page of the DC where the domain is added and then sign up from there.
