Manage expired/about to expire domains
When you add a domain to your Zoho account, we'll keep track of that domain's expiration date and remind you to renew your domain 30 days beforehand. Once you renew your domain, it will automatically reflect in your Zoho account.
If you fail to renew your domain before the expiration date, your domain will be marked as unverified. Unverified domains need to be renewed, then re-verified to validate the ownership of the domain.
If your domain is about to expire:Your domain will be marked as
about to expire, if your domain is within the 30 days of expiration.
What should you do?If you have enabled automatic renewal in your domain registrar, you can simply ignore this notification. If not, you need to renew your domain from your respective domain registrar. Once it is renewed, your domain registrar will update the status to the
Registration Data Access Protocol (RDAP). We'll check with RDAP regarding your domain status everyday and it will be reflected in your Zoho account automatically.
Sometimes the domain registrar might take one or more days to update the status to RDAP, So there might be a slight delay for the details to reflect in your Zoho account. Some domain registrar offer grace period to renew the domain beyond the expiry date. As these details are not accessible to Zoho, you will still be notified about domain renewal based on the data available from RDAP.
If your domain is expired:
If you haven't renewed your domain before the expiration date, it will be marked as an expired domain.
What should you do?
To keep the expired domain, you first need to renew it from your respective domain registrar, then
re-verify it on your Zoho account. Expired domains will be removed permanently from Zoho account and all email addresses associated with the domains will be deleted along with their inbox after 90 days from marking them as expired. You need to renew and re-verify your domain within that period.
Do note that it is possible for other people to purchase your domain, once your grace period to renew your domain with the respective domain registrar is over. This grace period might vary from one domain registrar to another. Check with your domain registrar and renew as soon as possible to avoid losing your domain.
