Secure Zoho account with MFA - Use alternate sign-in modes | OneAuth

Use Alternate Sign-in Modes

If you're facing network issues that prevent you from receiving push notifications or scanning a QR code, OneAuth offers alternative sign-in methods. You can still verify your identity using time-based OTP (TOTP) or by scanning the MFA or Smart Sign-in QR code (Scan any QR).

When your preferred sign-in method doesn't work

  1. Go to accounts.zoho.com
  2. Enter your email address, then click Next.
  3. Enter your password, then click Next.
If you've enabled passwordless sign-in for your Zoho account, you'll be taken directly to the MFA verification page after entering your email address.
  4. On the MFA verification page, click Sign in another way at the bottom.

  5. Choose an alternate verification option.
Based on your preferred sign-in mode, you may see either TOTP verification, QR code verification, or both.
    1. If you choose Offline TOTP verification, enter the OTP displayed in your OneAuth app and click Verify
To view your TOTP in OneAuth:
      a. Open the OneAuth app on your device.
      b. In the MFA tab, tap Sign in another way.
      c. Note down the time-based OTP (TOTP) displayed and enter it in the verification page.

    2. If you choose Scan QR verification, click the text to display the QR code.
To scan the QR code using OneAuth:
      a. Open the OneAuth app on your device.
      b. In the MFA tab, tap Sign in another way.
      c. Tap Scan QR instead to scan the QR code displayed on your screen.
Alternatively, on the latest versions of OneAuth for Android and iOS, tap Scan any QR in the MFA tab
          to scan the code.

Still unable to verify? Try this

  1. Successful authentication depends on your device's time. Make sure it's set to automatic in your device's Date & Time settings.
  2. If the issue persists, contact Zoho Support for assistance.
