Sign-in modes
Zoho offers various modes to sign in to your Zoho account, from the conventional method of signing in using only a password to the more secure method of signing in without using a password at all (passwordless sign-in).
You can choose your preferred mode from the ones listed below:
- Sign in using only your password (conventional method)
You can enter your username and your password to sign in to your Zoho account. Although simple, this method is considered to be the least secure of all available methods.
- Sign in using an OTP instead of a password
After you enter your username, instead of entering your password, you can enter the OTP that is sent to your email address or primary mobile number to sign in to your Zoho account. Learn how
Though this mode offers you the advantage of not needing to enter your password, it is also not as secure as the other modes we offer.
- Sign in with your third-party account credentials
If you wish to create and sign in to your Zoho account with your other non-Zoho account credentials, you can make use of the federated sign-in option available in Zoho. Federated sign-in allows you to sign in using other services like Google, LinkedIn, and so on. Learn how
- Sign in using Smart Sign-in
Smart Sign-in is an easy and seamless way of signing in to your Zoho account, where you can sign in just by scanning a QR code using your OneAuth Authenticator app. So, you don't need to enter a username and password every time to sign in. Learn more
- Sign in using passkey
Passkey offers a passwordless sign-in experience for you. Passkey is a credential similar to password, but your mobile device will take care of generating it and providing it at the time of sign-in, so you don't have to remember it or enter it to sign in. Learn how
- Sign in using multi-factor authentication (MFA)
In addition to using a password, you can also set up other factors to sign in to your Zoho account. This multi-factor authentication strengthens the security of your accounts and protects you from security threats. For multi-factor authentication, you can set up an OTP Authenticator app, a hardware security key, or use our in-house authentication app–OneAuth. Once you have set up any of these modes, you will be prompted to verify yourself using them after you enter your password. Learn how

Passwordless sign-in is a form of multi-factor authentication where you don't have to enter your password to sign in. Instead, you can sign in using your preferred sign-in mode that you have set up using OneAuth, our in-house authentication app. OneAuth lets you use either a push notification, QR code, or a time-based OTP to sign in to your Zoho account. Sign in using your preferred Identity Provider
If you wish to require your organization users to sign in to Zoho using your preferred identity provider (IdP) instead of having separate credentials for Zoho, you can set up Single Sign-on (SSO) with your IdP using SAML. Learn how
