Overview
Reach a wider audience by offering your event website in multiple languages. By default, your website uses the language set in your Zoho account, known as the source language. Importing additional languages allows visitors to switch to their preferred language, enhancing their experience.
Adding a New Language
- Navigate to Design > Website from the Dock.
- Click Edit Website to open the Website Designer.
- In the left sidebar, click Languages. The Languages panel will appear.
- Expand the Add Language section and select a language from the Select Language dropdown.

- Click Export Language File. This will:
- Add the selected language to the Other Language section.
- Display the new language as an option in the website’s navigation menu.
- Export a spreadsheet containing all the content from your website, including reference keys for each field.
- Open the exported spreadsheet and enter the translated content in the third column.
- Note: Fields left untranslated will remain in the source language when viewed in the new language.
- Save the spreadsheet and import it back into Zoho Backstage.
- Click the Import button next to the language you want to add, then upload the corresponding file.
Setting an Imported Language as the Default
- Navigate to Design > Website from the Dock.
- Click Edit Website to open the Website Designer.
- In the Languages panel, locate the imported language under the Other Language section.
- Click the Options icon (⋮) next to the language.
- Select Set as default language.
- This language will now become the default and appear in the Source Language section.
Reordering Imported Languages
- Navigate to Design > Website from the Dock.
- Click Edit Website to open the Website Designer.
- In the Languages panel, locate the imported languages under the Other Languages section.
- Click and drag the Reorder icon next to a language to change its position in the list and on the website.
Hiding an Imported Language
- Navigate to Design > Website from the Dock.
- Click Edit Website to open the Website Designer.
- In the Languages panel, locate the imported language under the Other Languages section.
- Click the Settings icon next to the language.
- Toggle off the Show on Website option.

Hidden languages are marked with a hidden icon in the Other Language section.
Deleting an Imported Language
- Navigate to Design > Website from the Dock.
- Click Edit Website to open the Website Designer.
- In the Languages panel, locate the imported language under the Other Language section.
- Click the Options icon (⋮) next to the language.
- Select Delete Language.
- The language will be removed from the Other Language section and the website design.
- Click Ok in the confirmation dialog.

Deleting a language also removes the corresponding translated spreadsheet.
