Configuring a host for online sessions in Zoho Backstage

Configuring a host for an online session

Add hosts to take care of session related tasks such as introducing the speaker, displaying the presentation, or wrapping up the session. After you have configured your sessions in the Agenda tab of the Microsite Builder you can assign hosts and co-hosts for each track in your online event. Each track can have one host and up to five co-hosts. Multiple tracks can also be overseen by one host.

To add a new host for sessions, invite people to join your event team as an event organizer or a staff member, then add them as host or co-hosts for individual tracks. When you are using Zoho Meeting or Zoom, event members must also be part of Zoho Meeting or licence holders in Zoom in order to be added as session hosts. When you're using third-party services to host your online event, you will not be able to configure hosts for the sessions in that event.

  1. Access the Manage Dashboard by using the toggle switch in the top-right corner of the Event Console.
  2. Click the OnAir tab.
  3. Click the Hosts tab. The number of tracks and sessions created for the event will be displayed at the top of the page. The details of the sessions will be displayed as well.
  4. Click the Manage hosts link for a track. The Add Host panel will be displayed.
Note: For multi-day events, configure hosts for each day by selecting the appropriate day on the top-left of the page.
  5. Search or pick the member's name from the Select Host dropdown.
Note: You can invite new members by clicking the Invite members link that is associated with the Select host dropdown.
  6. Search or pick the member's name from the Select co-host dropdown.
  7. Click Save.

Note:
  1. You must add a host for all your sessions in order to begin online sessions on event day and to enable attendees to join online sessions from the event microsite.
  2. When changing the webcast service from a different service to Zoom Webinar, sessions must be synced manually after the hosts have been re-configured.
  3. For Zoom Webinar, once a host is configured for a session, it cannot be changed. For the Backstage OnAir and Zoho Meeting webcasting services, you can change the host anytime before the event day begins.
  4. If you change the webcast service for online events after configuring hosts, the members added as hosts and co-hosts will be removed from the tracks. These members will not be able to start or end the previously assigned sessions unless they are added again.
