How to integrate Zoho SalesIQ with Zoho Backstage

Integrating with Zoho SalesIQ

Zoho SalesIQ allows you to track and interact with website visitors in real time. Integrating it with your Backstage portal helps you better understand who's visiting your event microsite, and how long they stay there. It also has live chat facilities to make contacting your microsite visitors and potential attendees easier.

Configuring SalesIQ for your portal

Link your Backstage portal with a Zoho SalesIQ portal to activate visitor tracking and live chat for all your events. 



  1. Click Settings in the top bar of your portal.
  2. Click the Integration tab.
  3. Click the Live chat and visitor tracking tab in the left pane. The Zoho SalesIQ section will be displayed in the right pane.
  4. Click the Configure Now button. 
  5. Enter a name for your SalesIQ portal in the Create SalesIQ portal dialog box.
  6. Click the Create button. The SalesIQ integration panel will be displayed. The portal you just configured will be preselected in the Choose your Zoho SalesIQ portal dropdown.
  7. Choose one of the following options:
    1. Select the Chat only radio button to enable live chat for your microsite.
    2. Alternatively, select the Chat and visitor tracking radio button to enable live chat and track your visitors.
  8. Click the Configure button.

Integrate SalesIQ with an event 

Connect your event microsite with SalesIQ to know who's visiting it and engage with them. The Zoho SalesIQ live chat widget will be added to your event microsites through which your visitors can reach you.




  1. Click the Settings tab in the Manage dashboard of your Event Console.
  2. Click the Live chat and visitor tracking tab in the Integration section in the left pane. The Zoho SalesIQ section will be displayed in the right pane.
  3. Click the Integrate now button. The SalesIQ integration dialog box will appear.
  4. Click the Connect button.

Using SalesIQ 

Add the live chat and visitor tracking features to your event microsite through Zoho SalesIQ. Engage with your visitors, prospects, and attendees with proactive chat, and build lasting relationships. All event microsites will be tracked as one website in SalesIQ, which means all visitor data will include a history of their interaction with the events in your portal.

Customize the chat widget

Give the widget a look and feel that goes well with the theme of your event microsite. 


  1. Click the Overview tab in the Manage dashboard of your Event Console.
  2. Click the Configuration link in the Zoho SalesIQ section.
  3. Click the SalesIQ link in the SalesIQ Integration dialog box.
  4. Navigate to the Settings module. 
  5. Click the Websites tab.
  6. Select the website that is linked to your Backstage portal.
  7. Click the Live Chat pop-over. 
  8. Customize your widget:
    1. Select Widget in the left pane to customize the appearance of the chat widget
    2. Select Chat Window in the left pane to customize the chat window

Keep track of microsite visitors 

Get information on microsite visitors, such as how long they've been on your microsite, where they are from, their visit history, and the actions they've performed in your microsite. 


  1. Click the Settings tab in the Manage dashboard of your Event Console.
  2. Click the Live chat and visitor tracking tab in the Integration section in the left pane. The Zoho SalesIQ section will be displayed in the right pane.
  3. Click the View details button in the Zoho SalesIQ section. The SalesIQ integration dialog box will be displayed.
  4. Click the SalesIQ link in the SalesIQ integration dialog box.
  5. Navigate to the Visitors module to see who's online at the moment. You can view the visitors who are currently on your website, as well as information like visitor name or unique ID, country flag, and time spent on the site.
  6. Navigate to the Visitor History module to get a list of all your visitors. 

Answer a message from a visitor 

Promptly answer queries and provide clarification to users. All conversations will be available in the Chat History module in the left pane.


  1. Click the Overview tab in the Manage dashboard of your Event Console.
  2. Click the Configuration link in the Zoho SalesIQ section.
  3. Click the SalesIQ link in the SalesIQ Integration dialog box. A pop-up will appear when a visitor contacts you.
  4. Click the Accept button. The chat screen will appear.
  5. Enter your message and send it.
Note: The pop-up will be open on the screen for one minute. After that the missed visitors will be added to your notifications and the Missed module.

Initiate a conversation with an visitor  

Start conversations with visitors, and help them figure out how they want to proceed.


  1. Click the Overview tab in the Manage dashboard of your Event Console.
  2. Click the Configuration link in the Zoho SalesIQ section.
  3. Click the SalesIQ link in the SalesIQ Integration dialog box.
  4. Navigate to the Visitors module. 
  5. Click on the visitor you want to converse with. The proactive chat window will appear.
  6. Enter your message in the textbox at the bottom of the pop-up.
  7. Click the Start Chat button to the right of the textbox.

Disable SalesIQ  integration for an event 

Remove visitor tracking and live chat for your microsite at any time.



  1. Click the Settings tab in the Manage dashboard of your Event Console.
  2. Click the Live chat and visitor tracking tab in the Integration section on the left pane. The Zoho SalesIQ section will be displayed in the right pane.
  3. Click the Disconnect button. The Disconnect SalesIQ Integration dialog box will appear.
  4. Click the Disconnect button.
The Zoho SalesIQ integration is available in the Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate plans.
