Email Deliverability

Email authentication is a standard technique to improve the deliverability of the emails you send from Bigin using your domain. You can use this process to increase the trustworthiness of the emails sent from your domain thereby lowering the chances of your emails being marked as spam or junk. To authenticate your emails sent from Bigin, you need to validate the following authentication standards:

  • Domain Verification

  • DKIM (Domain Keys Identified Mail)

  • SPF (Sender Policy Framework)

Users with administrator profile can access this feature.

Authenticating your email is a 2-step process:

  1. Add a domain

  2. Validate the domain

Step 1: Add a Domain

Every time an organization email is added and confirmed in Bigin, the corresponding domain for the email address is added to the Deliverability settings automatically. The administrator should complete the Domain Validation process for these domains.

Notes:
  1. By default, the domain of the email address you use to sign in to your Bigin account is automatically added to the Deliverability settings, and you’ll need to complete the domain validation process for it.
  2. For users with Email-in, there will be a separate domain verification column apart from the primary server column. To learn more about domain verification in Email-in, click here

Step 2: Validate the Domain

  1. The last step is to validate the email source using either the SPF and DKIM authentication standards.
  2. Under the Deliverability tab, click Domain > Validate Records.

  3. In the Authenticate Domain popup, copy the SPF and DKIM record details.
  4. Configure the copied details in your DNS (Domain Name System) settings. Refer to the Configure SPF and DKIM records for your domain section for more details.
You might need your IT admin's help in this step.
  5. Click Validate Records when the code is added.
