Import from Insightly
Migrate from Insightly to Bigin by simply entering the API key. The entire migration is carried out in the background and you will be notified once it is completed.
Some important points to note before you migrate from Insightly to Bigin,
- Bigin supports up to 10 custom fields/module in Express edition and up to 25 custom fields/module in Premier edition and up to 50/module in Bigin 360. The number of custom fields that can be migrated from Insightly depends on the custom fields that you have in Bigin. For example, if you already have six custom fields created in Bigin, only 4 custom fields can be migrated from Insightly for Express edition.
- If a custom field is already created with the same name and type as that of the field in Insightly then data will be migrated seamlessly to that field in Bigin. Otherwise, a new custom field will be created in Bigin during the migration.
- Up to 10 tags/module can be imported during the migration for an Express edition and up to 30 tags/module for a Premier edition and up to 50 tags/module for Bigin 360. The number of tags that can be migrated from Insightly depends on the tags that you have in Bigin. For example, if you already have five tags in Bigin, only 5 tags can be migrated from Insightly for Express edition.
- Once migration is completed, the users can be found under Invited users tab in Bigin and have to be re-invited to join the Bigin account. For re-invite user add-on limit will be added. After the migration is complete, users will appear under the Invited Users tab in Bigin. They will need to be re-invited to join the Bigin account, and the user add-on limit will be applied during re-invitation.
- During migration from Insightly, Bigin supports the following sub-pipeline limits based on the edition, as long as the account does not exceed the edition-specific limit:
- Express: 15 sub-pipelines + 3 default sub-pipelines
- Premier: 25 sub-pipelines + 5 default sub-pipelines
- Bigin 360: 75 sub-pipelines + 15 default sub-pipelines
- Bigin supports 250 stages from Insightly during the migration provided the edition specific stages limit in that account is not exceeded.
- After the migration if the total record count exceeds the 1 lakh limit in Premier edition and 50K limit in Express edition and 1 million in Bigin 360, then they can purchase an additional records as add-on to increase the limit. Additional records can be purchased until the account reaches 2 million records.
Migrate from Insightly
You can migrate data from Insightly in two simple steps,
- Get API Token from Insightly
- Initiate migration in Bigin
To get API token from Insightly
- Log in to your Insightly account.
- Click the account profile icon and then go to User Settings.
- In the User Settings page, under API key, copy the API token.
To initiate the migration from Insightly
- Go to Settings > Data Administration > Import.
- In the Data Migration page, do the following:
- Choose Insightly
- Enter the API Token.
The instance URL will be auto-populated. - Choose a target Team Pipeline from the available options and click Import Now.
You will be notified when the migration is complete via a pop-up and an email.
View migration details
The consolidated list of data that has been migrated can be viewed from the Import History page in your Bigin account. Details such as the number of records that are added or skipped will be displayed. The reason the records have been skipped in the migration process will be specified. Some of the common reasons include mismatch in data type, format. You can download a copy of these records, fix the errors, and import them in the appropriate module. You can also undo the import to remove all the data that was imported from Insightly.
To view Import history
- Go to Setup > Data Administration > Import > Import History.
Import History will display the number of records that are imported, as well as the user who initiated the migration process. - Click to view the number of records skipped or added.
Undo migration
You can also undo the import to remove all the records that were migrated from Insightly.
To undo the migration
- Go to Setup > Data Administration > Import History
- Hover over the Insightly row to view the more icon.
- Click Undo this import.
