Why wasn't the Company Name field added when I imported contacts?

The Company Name field will only be added to contacts if a record for that company already exists in the Companies module.
 
Data in Bigin is organized into modules. When importing data into your Bigin account, we recommend that you import them in the order listed below to ensure that all the related records are properly mapped:
  1. Companies
  2. Contacts
  3. Products
  4. Deals
  5. Notes
  6. Tasks
You must ensure that the parent records are already created in Bigin before importing child records. The Companies module is the parent module in Bigin. Each company can have one or more contacts linked to it as child records. Deals can then be created for these contacts and companies, so Deals is a child module for both the Contacts and Companies modules. Tasks and notes can be created for contacts, companies, and deals. So you must import records into the Companies module first, followed by Contacts, Products, and then Deals. Notes and Tasks should be imported at last.
