How do I configure IMAP in Bigin?
While Bigin allows you to send emails even if you haven't configured your email account, you will not be able to view incoming or sent emails without configuring your email account in Bigin. If you configure your IMAP account, you can send emails, view incoming emails, and have them associated with the relevant record in Bigin, without switching between multiple tabs. The main advantage of configuring IMAP is that you can sync your emails across various devices.
To configure an IMAP account
- Go to Settings and then Email.
- Choose from the most popular email services.
- Enter your Username, Email Address, and Password and click Continue.
- The server details are filled in for you automatically. If you are configuring IMAP for 'Other mail' you must enter the server details manually.
- Choose the appropriate Email Sharing Permission.
Private: The conversation with your customer will only be visible to you.
Public: Anyone in your organization can view the conversation. - Click Save.
