Does Bigin have built-in telephony?
Yes, Bigin comes with a built-in telephony that you can use to purchase phone numbers and route incoming calls to users in your organization. Users can make and receive calls inside Bigin effortlessly and all the calls will be logged inside the Activities module.
To set up the built-in softphone
- Go to Settings > Channels > Phone.
- In the 'If you don’t have an account with PBX/Contact Center' section, Click Setup Now.
- Under Phone Settings, click Buy a Number to purchase local and toll free numbers.
- In the Buy a Number pop up, select the country, number type and choose a number from the options available.
- Click Buy.
The cost of purchasing numbers vary based on the country and number type you choose. Your usage costs depend on this as well. We would recommend you to recharge your phone credits in Bigin periodically to ensure continuity in phone service. - Next, set up the billing details, proceed to pay and start using the softphone.

Please note that the process of purchasing a phone number for your business varies depending on the country. While phone numbers in some countries can be purchased right away from Bigin, certain countries have stricter regulations when it comes to purchasing phone numbers. In such cases, you need to fill in some additional Information about your business and raise a request. Our support team will process these requests and get back to you as quickly as possible.
