Viewing Contacts in Android
Viewing contacts
System-defined standard views categorize the contacts as:
- All contacts
- My contacts
- New last week
- New this week
- Recently created contacts
- Recently modified contacts
- Not yet viewed
- Unsubscribed contacts
In the contacts view, the users can star or unstar views by tapping the Star icon. They can also search for the desired views in the search tab.

Filtering contacts
Users can find it difficult to land on a specific contact quickly in a sea of contacts. To streamline their search, users can filter and view their contacts. There are advanced filters based on the contact fields like company name, created time, contact owner, first name, last name, email, email opt out, modified by, modified time, last activity time, mailing state, mailing country, unsubscribed time, etc. Users can also search for the needed filters from the search tab in the Filters page and they can also clear the filter if not needed anymore.
Only five filters can be applied at a time.
To filter contacts
- Open the Bigin app.
- Tap the Contacts module in the bottom navigation bar.
- Tap the Filter icon in the Contact View bar.
- Choose the appropriate filter and enter the criteria.
- Tap Apply.
Users can also see the number of contacts they have in their organization in the Filters page.
Sorting contacts
Users can sort their contacts to access them in an organized manner. They can sort in ascending or descending order based on the record fields like first name, last name, company name, title, email, etc,. They can also search for the fields they want to sort their contacts by in the Sort page.
To sort contacts
- Open the Bigin app.
- Tap the Contacts module in the bottom navigation bar.
- Tap the Sort icon in the Contact View tab.
- Choose the necessary field and ascending or descending based on your preference.
- Tap the Tick icon to reflect the chosen preferences.
Customizing the list view
Users can customize the list view in the contacts module by choosing the fields that should be displayed in the list view to make it more dynamic, presenting all relevant information directly within it.
Users can also customize the appearance of each card in the module.
- Images - The initial alphabets of the first and last names will be displayed in the image tab.The display image can be positioned on the left or right, and the shape can be square or circle.
- Style - Users can choose the display style of the record in the list view as list or card. They can also choose if they want to show the icons on the contact card.
- Actions - Users can determine if they want to make calls from the contact card by toggling the call option.
