Managing Feeds and Signals in Notifications - Mobile App | Zoho Bigin

Viewing Notifications in Android

The notifications module provides users with real-time updates on record activities and customer interactions through two distinct tabs: Feeds and Signals. Feeds display activity-based updates such as record assignments, record edits, and mentions in notes. Signals provide insight-driven customer interaction notifications. Together, these tabs help users stay informed about relevant changes and customer engagements without manually checking individual records.

Understanding feeds

Feeds display activity-based updates related to records across modules such as Pipelines, Contacts, Companies, and Products. Updates appear in the Feeds tab when a record is assigned to a user, another user edits a record that is assigned to a user, a user is mentioned in a note within a record and other such activities takes place.

For example, A team lead assigns a contact record to a sales representative. Another team member later edits the same record to update the customer's phone number. The sales representative sees both the assignment notification and the edit notification in the Feeds tab, ensuring they are aware of all changes without navigating to the record directly.

Understanding Signals

Signals provide insight-driven notifications that help users track customer engagement and communication activity. Signals are categorized into the following types:

Email insights

Email insights notify users about the status of emails sent from Bigin.
  1. Email open: Notifies when a recipient opens an email sent by the user.
  2. Email click: Notifies when a recipient clicks a link within an email sent by the user.
  3. Email bounce: Notifies when an email sent by the user bounces and is not delivered to the recipient.
  4. Reply received: Notifies when a recipient replies to an email sent by the user.

Incoming email-in notifications

When an incoming email results in the creation of a new record in Bigin, a notification appears in Signals indicating that a new record has been created via email - in.

File cabinet notifications

When File Cabinet is enabled and a file is sent to a customer, the customer receives an email with a direct link to a Workdrive page. When the customer uploads files through that page, a notification appears in Signals indicating the number of files uploaded. Multiple file uploads from the same customer are grouped together within a single notification chip, and the count increments as additional files are uploaded.

Missed call notifications

When a call is not attended (made through telephony integration), the missed call appears as signals.

For example,  A sales representative sends a proposal email to a customer and needs to know whether the customer has opened the email or if the email bounced. Instead of manually checking each email, the representative can monitor the Signals tab for email open and bounce notifications, allowing them to follow up at the right time.

Similarly, A user sends a document request to a customer using File Cabinet. The customer receives a link to a Workdrive page and uploads the required files. The user receive  signals notification indicating the number of files uploaded, without needing to repeatedly check whether the customer has responded.
