Setting a Passcode and Face ID in Bigin iOS - Bigin | Mobile App

Setting passcode in iOS

The Passcode page allows users to secure the Bigin app with an app-specific passcode, providing an additional layer of protection for their business data. Once enabled, users must enter the passcode each time they access the app or when prompted.

Turn passcode on

Users can enable a passcode to restrict unauthorized access to the Bigin app.

When setting up a passcode, users are prompted to create and confirm a secure passcode. Once configured, the passcode is required to unlock the app.

After setting a passcode users can choose a preferred time (immediately, after 1 minute, after 5 minutes, after 10 minutes) as to when they want the passcode to activate after entering the app.

Change passcode

After a passcode has been enabled, users can change it at any time by selecting Change Passcode and entering a new passcode.

This option is available only when a passcode is already configured.
Notes
For security reasons, users are automatically signed out of the Bigin app after six consecutive incorrect passcode attempts. They must sign in again to regain access to their account.

Enabling Face ID

Face ID allows users to unlock the Bigin app using facial authentication instead of entering the app passcode each time. To use Face ID:
  1. The device must support Face ID
  2. Face ID must be configured on the iPhone

To enable Face ID

  1. Open the Bigin app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Passcode.
  4. Turn on Passcode, if it is not already enabled.
  5. Enable the Face ID toggle.
  6. When prompted, authenticate using Face ID.
Once enabled, you can unlock the Bigin app using Face ID. If Face ID authentication is unsuccessful or unavailable, you can unlock the app by entering your app passcode.
  1. Face ID is available only on supported iPhone models with Face ID configured in iOS Settings.
  2. Face ID is used only to authenticate access to the Bigin app. Your facial data is securely managed by iOS and is not stored or accessed by Bigin.
  3. If Face ID cannot verify your identity, you can continue by entering your app passcode.
