Resource event type refers to booking any physical asset. For example, conference rooms, medical equipments, vehicles. The resource can be priced by time, and customers pay based on the hours they use the resource.
2. Feature availability
- Super admins and admins can create and edit resource event types in all workspaces
- Workspace admins can create and edit it in their assigned workspaces
- Managers and staff can only view the event settings
3. Overview
Resource event type is ideal for booking conference rooms, renting out equipments, or monetizing any assets. When you create a resource event type, you can assign multiple resources to it. While booking, customers can view the available resources and book any one of them.
4. Use case
Let's imagine an organization that has multiple conference rooms in their premises. When teams want to catch up for a meeting, they had to check for room availability physically. Instead, all the conference rooms can be added as a resource, and a resource event type called 'Room Booking' can be created. This event type allows employees to check which room is available and book it for their meetings.
5. Steps to create a resource event type
Info: Before creating a resource event type, you need to add the required resources under Admin center > Resources.- Switch to the required workspace by clicking the workspace name under the Bookings icon
in the top-left corner. Click Event Types in the left pane and click +New Event Type in the right pane. The Create New Event type screen will appear.

- Click Resource Booking in the below screen.

- In the next screen, fill out the below details:
- Click Next.
Note: To collect payments online, you need to integrate one of the payment gateways. Furthermore, you can define the payment type under Event Type settings to make the payment as optional, full payment or deposit.

- Assign resources: You can assign multiple resources to the event type, and when the customer books, any one of the resources gets booked.
Choose resources to assign by selecting the checkbox of the required resources.
- Click Create Event Type. This creates a resource event type in the current workspace.

Once an event type is created, you can edit its settings by clicking the created event type.

6. Manage resource event type
End Time Selection
You can enable or disable the option for selecting an end time when booking a resource. This setting applies to customer bookings and also bookings made in-app.

Enabled – Customers and users can select both the start and end time while booking a resource. This gives them flexibility to choose the duration of the booking.
Disabled – Only the start time can be selected. The system will automatically determine the end time based on the event duration configured for the resource. This ensures consistent booking slots and avoids overlaps.

Assigned resources
You can view the list of resources assigned to the event type under Event Types > Assigned Resources.

To remove a resource from the event type, hover over the required resource and click the delete icon
