Event types are the meetings or services or offerings that you provide, such as consultations, classes, or service appointments. Depending on the type of appointment, there are different kinds of event types.
Event type serves as a template for the appointments that you offer. It defines parameters like duration, availability, hosts, price, and other key factors. For example, Product Demo is an event type, and customers can book appointments for it, which follows all the parameters, such as duration, price, payment type, buffer time, and so on, that are set for the event type. Each appointment follows the rules and policies you've set in the event type settings.
These parameters help you design your event types to fit different types of appointments like group sessions, resource booking, panel meetings, consultations, and so on.
Once you create an event type, you can offer it on a booking page and get booked by your customers.
Bookings offer different kinds of event types.
One-on-One
A One-on-One event type is suitable for appointments with one host and one participant. It could be a sales call, client meeting, doctor consultation or any appointment that involves a 1:1 meeting.
Group Booking
A group booking is suitable for meetings that have one host and multiple participants. It could be a webinar, group session, online training, or any one-to-many meetings.
Depending upon its repetition, it can be of any one type
Collective Booking
A collective event type is suitable for meetings that have multiple hosts and a single participant. It could be a panel interview, product demo, client onboarding, or any many-to-one appointments.
Resource Booking
A resource booking is an event type that is suitable for booking any physical asset. It could be a conference room booking, equipment reservation, vehicle renting or similar. The resource can be priced by time, and customers pay based on the amount of time for which they book the resource.
Under Custom Labels, you can rename Event Types to any term that aligns with your scheduling needs (for example, Services, Sessions, or Meetings). This customized label will appear across all relevant sections in your Bookings account for a consistent experience.Learn how to use the best tools for sales force automation and better customer engagement from Zoho's implementation specialists.
